Kidsinit's Youtopia: You Are The Source Of Your Own Success

"A Learning Engine Where You Find Yourself"

Youtopia is a developing framework that cultivates depth in students' perceptions of their experiences as they face the challenges of adolescence in today's complex society.

Kidsinit/Youtopia was originally developed in 1996, thanks to The Broad Alliance for Multimedia and Technologiy Applications and the support of several Silicon Valley businesses: iTVc, Ensemble Solutions, Cole Danehower, and WANG Govt Services, and funded in part by NASA Ames Commercialization Center

When students integrate data through participation in this project based collective process, they re-experience the cause and effect of their real world actions, behaviors and decisions.

Youtopia was listed in NASA's 1999 Learning Technology's Project Index as a cutting edge tool for promoting both personal and social missions while fostering an inner dialogue examining social principles and practices.

Kid On A Mission is one of thirteen verticle search engines that provide a comprehensive study of each subject, called 'LEARNING LANDSCAPES' ® where chapters relate to students day to day experiences.

See below: Youtopias original 'mission' and 'bottle' chapters/ samples of user interfaces: On a Mission displays work from students at SF Academy of the Arts, and In a Bottle imagery is modified advertising, fostered by the vendors so that students will reflect further on the issues of alcohol use when seeing original imagery out in the world. And providing greater awareness of their place 'in it'

Youtopia builds self-esteem by creating dynamic relationships between kids, teachers and their universe. Join us, leverage student projects and your curriculum in this cosmology.
